Udaipur tours and sightseeing

Udaipur tours around the lakes and palaces of Rajasthan's most relaxed city — City Palace, Lake Pichola, Jagdish Temple and the gardens, at a gentle pace.

Why Udaipur

Udaipur sits among lakes with the Aravalli Hills behind it, and feels slower than anywhere else in Rajasthan. The City Palace complex is enormous; Lake Pichola carries the Taj Lake Palace and Jag Mandir.

A boat ride at sunset is the thing everyone remembers, and it is worth planning the day around the light.

Questions people ask about Udaipur

How many days does Udaipur need?
A full day covers the City Palace, the temple and a boat ride. Two days lets the city be the rest it is good at.
Is the Lake Pichola boat ride included?
It depends on the package. It can be added to any Udaipur itinerary on request.
Can I fly out of Udaipur?
Yes, and most of our longer Rajasthan routes end that way rather than driving back to Delhi.
What is the best time to visit Udaipur?
October to March is the most pleasant. The weeks just after the monsoon are especially lovely, as the lakes are full and the hills are green.
How do I get to Udaipur?
Direct flights from Delhi take about an hour and a half. By road, Udaipur is about five hours from Jodhpur, with the Ranakpur Jain temple on the way.
Where should I stay in Udaipur?
Around Lake Pichola in the old city for lake views and walking access to the City Palace. The Fateh Sagar Lake area is calmer and still close to the sights.
Where is the best place to watch the sunset in Udaipur?
On a boat on Lake Pichola, from a lakeside rooftop, or up at the Monsoon Palace on the hill, which looks out over the city and the lakes.
What else is there to see in Udaipur?
Saheliyon ki Bari garden, Jagdish Temple, the evening folk dance show at Bagore ki Haveli and the vintage car collection. The old city lanes are good for an unhurried walk.
Are there good day trips from Udaipur?
Yes. Kumbhalgarh Fort with its enormous walls, the Ranakpur Jain temple and the hilltop fort of Chittorgarh are all easy day trips by private car.
