Questions people ask

What is the Gatimaan Express?
It is India's first semi-high-speed train, introduced in 2016. It runs between Delhi and Agra at up to 160 km/h and covers the journey in about 100 minutes.
How long does a Taj Mahal tour by train from Delhi take?
The train takes roughly 100 minutes each way. Add guided visits to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort and the whole day runs about 12 hours, with the return train reaching Delhi in the evening.
Which station do I depart from in Delhi?
The Gatimaan Express leaves Hazrat Nizamuddin station at 8:10 am. Our driver collects you from your hotel in Delhi NCR and gets you to the platform with time to spare.
Is the Taj Mahal open every day of the week?
No, the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, and the Gatimaan Express does not run on Fridays either. This tour therefore operates Saturday to Thursday.
What class options are there on the Gatimaan Express?
There are two air-conditioned classes, Executive Chair Car and Standard Chair Car. Both serve food on board, usually breakfast on the way to Agra and a snack on the way back.
Can this Delhi to Taj Mahal train tour be private?
Yes. Your guide and AC car in Agra are reserved for your group alone, so you can linger at the Taj Mahal, skip a stop or change the pace as you like.
What's included in the package?
Hotel pickup and drop-off in Delhi, Gatimaan Express tickets, and a private AC car with a licensed English-speaking guide in Agra are the core of the tour. Your written quote lists exactly what else is covered, such as monument tickets and lunch; tips and personal expenses are not included.
What happens if the train runs late?
Your guide and driver in Agra keep track of the train and wait for you at Agra Cantt, and the day's timings are adjusted so you still get your full visit at the Taj Mahal. On the way back, your Delhi driver checks the arrival time and meets you at the station whenever the train comes in.
Are vegetarian options available at lunch?
Yes. Lunch is paid separately, and whether you choose a five-star hotel buffet or a local restaurant, there are plenty of vegetarian dishes. Just tell your guide about any dietary needs and they will recommend the right place.
