   Early pickup in Delhi

   Your driver collects you from your hotel or the airport while the city is still asleep, and the expressway gets you to Agra in about three hours.

2. 6:00 AM

   The Taj Mahal at sunrise

   Meet your guide at the gate and go in with the first visitors of the day, when the marble changes colour and the gardens are quiet.

3. 9:00 AM

   Breakfast, then Agra Fort

   Breakfast at a restaurant or a five-star hotel in Agra, then a guided walk through Agra Fort and its river terraces facing the Taj.

4. 12:00 PM

   Back towards Delhi

   Leave Agra around midday and drive back to Delhi on the expressway.

5. 3:30 PM

   Old Delhi on the return

   Jama Masjid, a cycle-rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, the Khari Baoli spice market, and the Red Fort walls from outside.

6. 7:00 PM

   Drop at your hotel or the airport

   Back at your Delhi hotel, or at the airport if you are flying out that night.

Is this a private tour?

Yes, it is fully private. You have your own AC car, driver and licensed English-speaking guide all day, with no other travellers, so you decide the pace and the stops.

How early is the pickup from Delhi?

Pickup is usually between 2:30 and 3:30 am, depending on where your hotel is. That leaves enough time to reach Agra before the Taj Mahal opens at sunrise, with a cushion for traffic.

Is the Taj Mahal open for sunrise visits?

Yes, it opens shortly before sunrise every day except Friday, when it is closed. We plan your tour date around this automatically.

Is Old Delhi sightseeing included on the return journey?

Yes. On the way back you get a cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, a visit to Jama Masjid and time in the nearby spice market, along with a view of the Red Fort area, before drop-off.

Are entrance tickets included?

No. Monument entry tickets are paid at each site, and your guide buys them with you so you do not queue twice. Current fees are in our Taj Mahal ticket price guide.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than seven days before travel for a full refund of the deposit; closer to the date, costs already committed with hotels and transport are deducted. Our terms page has the details.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes and walking shoes, since you will be on your feet for several hours. Modest dress covering shoulders and knees is best at both the Taj Mahal and Jama Masjid.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Most of the Taj Mahal is accessible, but Old Delhi's narrow, crowded lanes are much harder going. Let us know your needs in advance and we will arrange extra support or adjust the route.

Can I skip the Old Delhi portion if I'm tired?

Of course. Because the tour is private, just tell your guide and the Old Delhi stop can be shortened or skipped at no penalty.
