Questions people ask

Is this a private food tour in Old Delhi?
Yes. It is a private, guided food walk with your own AC car for transfers and a dedicated local guide, with pickup from hotels or the airport in Delhi NCR.
What type of food is included during the tour?
You will taste a mix of Old Delhi favourites, from crispy street snacks and chaat to traditional sweets and local dishes. Let us know about any allergies or dietary needs before the day.
Is the rickshaw ride included in the tour?
Yes, a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk is included and is a fun way to move between food stops.
Are monument entry tickets included?
No, entry tickets for any monuments are not part of this tour; if you want to visit one, you pay at the gate.
Is this tour suitable for vegetarians?
Yes, very much so. Old Delhi has a huge range of vegetarian food, and we can make the whole tour vegetarian if you prefer.
Is the food safe for tourists?
Your guide takes you only to clean, popular and well-known stalls that locals and visitors trust, and you can always try a smaller portion if you are unsure.
Should we skip a meal before the tour?
Yes, come hungry. The eight to ten tastings add up to a full meal, so most guests skip lunch or have only a light breakfast if they are starting early.
Is the food very spicy, and is it suitable for children?
Your guide can ask for milder versions wherever possible and will steer you towards sweets, parathas and gentler snacks if spice is a worry. Children usually love the rickshaw ride and the sweets, and you can always share portions.
How much walking is there, and what should I wear?
There is a fair amount of walking through narrow, crowded lanes, broken up by the rickshaw ride. Wear comfortable closed shoes and light clothes that cover shoulders and knees, which also suits the visit to Jama Masjid.
