Questions people ask

Can this tour start from Delhi?
Yes. From Delhi we usually stop in Vrindavan and Mathura on the way and continue to Agra for the night.
Can we take phones into the temples?
Not into all of them — the Krishna Janmabhoomi complex does not allow phones or cameras. Leave them in the car.
Can we add the elephant conservation centre?
Yes. The Wildlife SOS elephant centre is just outside Mathura; it needs to be booked in advance.
What should we wear to the temples?
Modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees. Shoes come off at every temple, so slip-on shoes and a pair of socks help, especially on hot marble in summer.
Why is Banke Bihari visited so late in the day?
The major Vrindavan temples close in the early afternoon and reopen for evening darshan. We plan the day around those hours, so you reach Banke Bihari just as the doors open again.
Are non-Hindus welcome in the temples?
Yes. Visitors of all faiths are welcome at every temple on this tour, and your guide explains the customs as you go.
Are the monkeys in Vrindavan a problem?
They are famous for snatching glasses, phones and bags. Keep sunglasses and spectacles tucked away in the old lanes and follow your guide's advice, and you will be fine.
How crowded does it get?
Weekends and festivals such as Janmashtami and Holi bring huge crowds, especially at Banke Bihari. A weekday is calmer, and with young children or elderly travellers your guide will pick quieter moments.
Will we be pressured to make donations?
No. Donations are entirely your choice and not included in the price. Your guide will steer you away from anyone pushing for money at the temples.
