Your day by day

1. Day 1

   Arrive in Delhi

   Arrive in Delhi, transfer to your hotel, evening at leisure.

2. Day 2

   Old Delhi in the morning, New Delhi after lunch

   Old Delhi in the morning — Jama Masjid, a rickshaw through Chandni Chowk, the spice market — then New Delhi's monuments in the afternoon.

3. Day 3

   To Agra — Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh

   Drive to Agra. Agra Fort in the afternoon, sunset at Mehtab Bagh.

4. Day 4

   Sunrise Taj Mahal and a free afternoon

   Taj Mahal at sunrise, Itimad-ud-Daulah after breakfast, and a free afternoon for the marble inlay workshops.

5. Day 5

   Fatehpur Sikri, Chand Baori and on to Jaipur

   To Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri and the Chand Baori stepwell.

6. Day 6

   Amber Fort, the stepwell and Nahargarh at sunset

   Amber Fort at opening, Panna Meena stepwell, City Palace and Jantar Mantar, sunset at Nahargarh.

7. Day 7

   A free morning, then back to Delhi

   A free morning for the bazaars, then the drive back to Delhi.

How is this different from the 6 day tour?

The extra day becomes free time rather than more sightseeing — an afternoon in each city with nothing booked.

Can we add Ranthambore?

Yes, that becomes the 7 day tour with Ranthambore, which swaps the free time for two tiger safaris.

Do you meet us at Delhi Airport on arrival?

Yes. Your driver meets you at the airport on day one, whatever time your flight lands, and takes you straight to your Delhi hotel. On day seven we can drop you back at the airport or at any address in Delhi.

What happens if the sunrise Taj Mahal day falls on a Friday?

The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so we plan your start date to keep day four off a Friday. If your dates are fixed, we rearrange the Agra days so you still see the Taj at sunrise.

Which hotel category can we choose?

The six nights can be booked in 3, 4 or 5-star hotels, and we can quote heritage properties in Jaipur if you would like something special. Breakfast is included whichever category you pick.

Will we be taken to shops during the free afternoons?

Only if you want to go. The marble inlay workshops in Agra and the Jaipur bazaars are there as an option, and we never force shopping stops or pressure you to buy.

Is winter fog a problem on this route?

Dense fog can settle over Delhi and Agra on some mornings from late December to mid-January, which can slow the highway drives and soften the sunrise view of the Taj. Your driver builds in extra time on those days, and October to March is still the most comfortable season overall.

Are meals included, and is vegetarian food available?

Breakfast is included at every hotel; lunch and dinner are paid as you go, so you can eat wherever you like. Your guide and driver know clean, reliable restaurants in each city, and vegetarian food is easy to find everywhere.

How do booking and payment work?

We send you a written itinerary and a fixed price before any payment. Your booking is confirmed with a deposit, and the balance is paid on arrival or as agreed.
